View the famous ancient monastic site of Clonmacnoise by river. The monastery is on the east side of the River Shannon and is one of Europe’s most highly regarded side of its kind, it was founded in 545 AD by St. Ciaran and the monastic ruins consist of a cathedral, 8 churches, 2 round towers and 3 high crosses.
The ‘River Queen’sails for a leisurely cruise along the now famous navigational channel used by barges on the traditional Shannon route some years ago.
