Dublin’s Docklands will once again be all aglow this Christmas with over 8,000 twinkling blue lights on 200 trees throughout the area from mid-November.
The festive celebrations include the return of the ever popular ’12 Days of Christmas’ Festival which will take place this year from Friday 12th to Tuesday 23rd December, 12 noon to 8pm daily.
Now in its fourth year, this charming yuletide event offers visitors a magical festival experience in a unique waterside village setting with over 80 market traders selling a range of Christmas gifts, seasonal food and stocking fillers. An estimated 80,000 people enjoyed its festive atmosphere last year.
To start the festive season in style, the lighting of the Docklands Christmas tree complete with 2,000 LED lights, at the chq building in the heart of the IFSC will be carried out by Councillor Eibhlin Byrne, Lord Mayor of Dublin on Sunday 16th November at 5.30pm. The Gardiner Street Gospel Choir will also be in attendance from 2pm to kick off the Christmas season with some heart-warming festive cheer. All are welcome to attend and join in the celebrations.
